I think there may be literally thousands of 'heavens.' I think intelligent life should it evolve anywhere else in the universe would realize how special and rare intelligence is... and once having developed sufficiently advanced technology (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Light_of_Other_Days for the technology needed...) information processing power would be fairly cheap such that it would be possible to remotely 'read' someone (like star trek beam me up... only one way scan like an MRI)... anyway ... to read someone completely at the last moment of consciousness... from this 'reading' re-instantiate that person either in virtual or physical form in the new place..
