I have just completed another outstanding book by one of the sharpest intellects of our time, Airframe by Michael Crichton. The book provided a detailed window into the inner working of the aerospace industry.
My father works with a company tasked by the airlines to impose standards on the major airframe manufacturers, which brought this book close to home. He told me he read it some time ago, although he said it is not required reading. He is responsible for several ongoing standards, including various Galley/Foodservice standards, Data Loading, Avionics internetworking standards using standard Ethernet, and a few others. I could only dream of one day having such a job. Imagine working for the airlines, and flying all over the world to work on standards between Boeing & Airbus, I believe he is more well traveled than our own secretary of state...
I would highly rec ...

Well, after way more work than I ever imagined, I have released the Document Management module I have written about for the last couple of days for general consumption.
It is amazing this module started out because of what has become an unanswered request on the DotNetNuke forums. Unfortunately, the original author has not replied either to my direct email or my numerous postings to the thread. Specifically, he volunteered that if anyone were interested in developing a WebDAV enabled Document Management System, to contact him to see what was up. Since that post, I have taken the initiative to port the ACIA DMS module from it's sophisticated IBuySpy Portal roots to it's current DotNetNuke 2.1.2 trim.

At the suggestion of my esteemed college Eric Schmidt, I took his suggestion to remove the requirement for the core modification from my ACIA DMS Module. I removed the dependency upon the CBO.FillObject method, which removed the dependency on the Null.vb class not containing the appropriate null.byte[]. In any event, I have tested it on two separate servers, and it appears to work satisfactorily.
It is available to registered users in the download area.

Well, after more work than I could possibly have imagined, I have completed the conversion & enhancement of the Document Management Module on this site.
This module, like most of the projects I have worked on, followed the 80/20 rule very nicely: 80 percent of the code gets done in 20 percent of the time, and the other 80 percent of the time is occupied fixing the last 20 percent of the code. And, the amazing part is, this module was incredibly well designed and documented.
At this time, I may make a PA Version of the module available for download free, but I don't know if I am going to give away the source or not on it. Either way, it provides a real, bona-fide solution to document management with teams dispersed throughout the internet. I personally found a distinct need for such a solution, which is the reason I endeavored to undertake it's development in the first place, and now I have one.
